HPL#13 Show Online
for Download
The organizer (Hiya, J!) of HappyLIVEs #13 was kind enough to give the
band an MP3 of our recent 74-min., unrehearsed jam at Yoyogi Koen's
Outdoor Stage. Visit the Audio page and
download the 68 MB file! We hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

"Life After Justin"
Tour Unexpectedly Announced
Justin Leclair, ex-guitarist for Life After Failing, apparently left
Japan on Sunday, September 17, citing numerous personal reasons. The
sudden departure, without even so much as a good-bye, left the band
with three shows booked and, obviously, no guitarist to play them. The
band is working through the difficulty to fulfill its obligations by
having guest musicians join the band for the remaining engagements.
Before Justin left, he promised to leave the 40,000 Yen he owed in band
expenses with his cousin. No word, as yet, has surfaced regarding which
cousin on which continent would be given the money. The band continues
to sigh repeatedly at the recent turn of events. Justin is cordially
invited to PayPal the outstanding sum to info@lifeafterfailing.com.
The future of the band is uncertain. It has not been decided whether to
find another guitarist and carry on or whether to shelve the project.

HappyLIVEs #13 @
Yoyogi Koen, Tokyo!
We are absolutely thrilled to announce that we're going to be playing
the next HappyLIVEs event @ Yoyogi Park in Tokyo on the holiday Monday,
September 18. Admission is free. Details are still being ironed out,
but you can expect non-stop bands from noon till 6 p.m. Venue: Outdoor
Stage in Yoyogi Park near the NHK buildings (you know, by the soccer
fields).
Come out, drink a bunch of ridiculously expensive beer, dance near the
stage and let's party. LAF will most likely get an hour of stage time.

The band has been booked once again to play at Yukotopia. Details to be
updated as the band gets more information regarding who is sharing the
bill that evening.
Please plan ahead! Rumour has it that Shin-ichiro of MELTONE fame will be playing that

2006-03-21 Yukotopia Show Ready for Download &
Photos Updated
Our latest show at Dead Heads Land
Yukotopia can now be downloaded from bt.etree.org and
will be approved very shortly at the Life
After Failing section in the Live Music Archive.
Feel free to download it, burn yourself a CD, send it to your
Grandmother for her birthday or practice your frisbee. ;-)
As well, we've got a whole whack of photos that were taken at the show.
As usual, not much of Dave can be found, but he really is in the band. Honest.
(Seriously, though, his missus was kind enough to take some photos that
definitely ensured there is proof of his existence after all. Amazing,
we know.) Have a look at the photo page.

2006-01-27 Yukotopia Photos
It took too long, we know, but the photos from our recent Yukotopia
show are finally up and online for your perusal. Look for Justin's
demon eyes caught by the flash in a moment of serious concentration.
Lots of blurry Trane. Sadly, Dave pretty much got left out, although if
you look hard enough, you'll see his hat in a few pics. Oops. Dave
should get the missus to take more pics of him to ensure there's some
balance there. ;-)

sticks Dave likes to break at rehearsal? Now you can find out.

Live Music Archive
Life After Failing live shows can now be streamed or downloaded from
the Live
Music Archive! First uploaded was our recent show @ Yukotopia. We
got a really nice soundboard recording from the venue, so we thought
we'd share it with the world. Enjoy it and check the LMA often for show
updates! Also, don't forget that LAF allows taping at our shows. Don't
be shy about bringing your rig and capturing the moment.
Peace.

LAF Web Server Down
for Maintanence
Our site's hosting provider will be bringing down the systems for a UPS
replacement upstream from their colocation offices. We've been given a
servicing window of between 2005-10-18 23:00 EST and 2005-10-19 0400
EST. The expected downtime will be between 20-40 minutes while
electricians wire a distribution panel upstream from ours into the new
UPS. Life After Failing apologizes for any inconvenience that this may
cause.
UPDATE: The transition to the new system completed without any downtime
at all. The crew managed to work in an emergency power feed for the
duration of the servicing and the systems were able to be transitioned
to the new UPS without service interruption. Nice.

either, so we're champing at the bit!

LAF Announces
Friendly Taper/Trader Policy
Today, Life After Failing announced its taper/trader policies to
etree.org and archive.org to encourage audience recordings of LAF shows
and to make sure it's clear that people are allowed to trade these
shows in whatever format they wish. Trane puts it like this: "As long
as it's strictly for non-commercial personal use, we're good with it.
Tapers perform a valuable service for the community and we feel it's in
everybody's interest for us to allow audience-based audio- and video
recordings. If it weren't for tapers and traders, I'd never have heard
Phish and what a shame that
would be."
For a formal declaration of LAF's taper/trader policy, please visit our
Contact page.
